I have used leaves, petals, stems and branches in many different ways. These pieces of nature are collected from roadside weed patches, my own garden or any place I happen to be. Dried tulip petals are collaged to the surface of “Siena August.” In “Leaf Peel” I used leaves to make solar plate etchings resulting in a double layered print with the leaf forms cut and “peeled” away from the top layer, exposing an under layer of leaves. In “Harvey’s Pond #1” the texture of the waterlily leaves was embossed in the paper and made to appear magically by the careful use of “frottage” or rubbing the surface of the paper with colored pencils.
